Time to get out and hit those “After another Doomsday that didn’t happen” sales.

Today is National Coffee Day. I always drink iced coffee because by the time I get a break to take a sip of coffee it’s nasty and cold.

The daughter of actor Paul Walker is suing Porsche for the high speed accident that killed her father. I’ve told my family that if I succumb to an easily preventable death NOT to sue the maker of whatever dumb gizmo I killed myself doing something stupid on, but to issue a press release saying, “we thought she was smarter than that.”

Another species of venomous snake has been discovered in Australia. That brings Australia’s total to … ALLL OF THEM. HEY! There was once a baby snake who asked, “Mommy, are we venomous?” Mommy snake answers, “Yes, dear. Why do you ask?” Baby snake responds, “Because I just bit my tongue.”

NASA announces there’s likely flowing water on Mars. But it’s probably toxic. Hey – toxic water is better than no water when the atmosphere is trying to kill you.

Asians are expected to pass Hispanics as our largest immigration group by 2065. That’s 50 years in the future, so I’m going to start not caring now.

And a few things you need to know …

On this date in 1829, the famous Scotland Yard was created. Weird that they use “Yard” when they’re on the metric system.

On this date in 1951, the very first color broadcast of a football game on TV took place. This marked the beginning of the end for Sunday home projects.

Lots of news out of the UN this week, with notable world leaders giving addresses. One guy stood up to speak out against ISIS and blamed other nations for it’s dangerous rise. Yep, Mr. Putin sounded pretty presidential.

Remember Honey Boo Boo? Pageant kid with the mom who married a sex offender? Her home is set to be demolished because it was deemed UNSELLABLE. So many memories … so few of them good.

And … Facebook went down yesterday. I had to walk down the street with a printed out photo of my wedding asking strangers, “DO YOU LIKE THIS?” I also had to crush actual candy.
