Metallica brings their “WorldWired Tour” to the Legacy Arena at the BJCC on 1/22/19. So this week, I’ll look at the best Metallica classics!
The band was formed in 1981 by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. Lars actually gave up a budding career in tennis to pursue music…..yes, tennis. Their “Metallica” album (also known as “The Black Album”) released in 1991 brought the band to the masses with heavy exposure on MTV and extensive airplay on rock radio. That album featured their most popular song “Enter Sandman”.
Their song and video “One” two years earlier gave many their first introduction to the band and their “…And Justice For All” album. That album infamously lost to Jethro Tull at the 1989 Grammys. Metallica purists believe the band reached their pinnacle with the 1986 album “Master of Puppets” and it’s hard to argue given the blistering title track..
